The wife and I are finally here in Cali. We have 20 pounds of shit to cram into a 10 pound townhouse. Wheee.

The friggin' drive out hewre sucked ass. Got the entire contents shoved into a 26 foot Penske truck and left ABQ Friday night at 8pm. I was so tired from packing the truck, I had to stop for the night just east of Flagstaff. We got back on the road after a decent breakfest @ Denny's about 10am.......... Then the fun began.

Kim's check engine light came on in the Land Rover and she freaked. Probably an O2 sensor, but we need to do a once over on the engine...again. It's ok... like I said, probably an O2 sensor.

Smooth sailing until we got to highway 58 outside of Bakersfield. Some freaky storm came through and shut down the highway. Not good since I had to be at work today (monday). So, we gas up and move on. Back on 58, the rain/snow mix got so bad we could only go about 35 up the damn mountain. But we got lucky. The highway had just reopened and we trugded along.

Finally pulled up to the new pad at 1:30am. Two of my long time friends were there waiting on us to help us offload our bed and the contents of Kim's Urban Assault Vehicle.

The truck got fully offloaded before the SB started, but the cable guy showed up just before halftime, and I fell asleep on the couch just after that... Never found out who wno 'till a few hours after.

Went to work today and damn near fell asleep standing up.

Having a beer and unpacking some stuff tonight.

Tell the WD that the engine lights come in 2 colors, red and yellow. Yellow= caution. Red+stop. As long as the warning light isnt red, dont panic. Hope everything works out for you 2 in Cali.

yep! Long drives can take a lot of energy out of you, that's for sure. I like to bring oranges to keep me awake, they work better than coffee. It's good to hear the trip turned out ok! I'm going to get to drive our Sienna minivan full of all our video gear down to Las Vegas and back in March, for a big computer show at the Venetian. I'm actually looking forward to it, driving down through eastern Oregon and Idaho and then through Utah into Las Vegas.
